Weightlifting association gets new board in Ondo State

The Ondo State Sports Council has inaugurated a new board for the state chapter of the Nigeria Weightlifting Association, committed to improving the achievement of the association.

The Ondo State Sports Council has inaugurated a new board for the state chapter of the Nigeria Weightlifting Association, committed to improving the achievement of the association.

During the inauguration at the weekend in Akure, the new chairman, Mr. Sylvester Ikuejamoye, promised to consolidate and improve upon the association’s achievements in the state.

Ikuejamoye, who is a seasoned sports analyst and administrator, urged all other members of the board to remain resolute and committed to the cause of the federation, saying they should see the call as a service to humanity.

Similarly, the South West Coordinator of the Federal Ministry of Sports, Mr. Steve Olarinoye, advised the newly inaugurated board members to serve with all commitment and dedication.

The Ondo State Government House Correspondent of Africa Independent Television (AIT), DAAR Communications Plc, Mr. Olayemi Oke, was appointed as its new media officer.

Other members of the six-man board include the Vice Chairman, Dr. Ayodele Adelusi, Dr. Samuel Akingbesote, Mr. Lasisi Yussuf and Mrs. Oluwaseun Ojo, the Secretary of the association.

The members all expressed optimism on their willingness to work as a team to improve on the standard of the game in Ondo State, announcing that various events would soon hit the ground running.
