With the 2022 FIFA World Cup only a matter of weeks away, the excitement and preparations surrounding the tournament in Qatar will only go into overdrive; a competition that has unfortunately been covered in controversy from the get-go.

While there will be a number of players doing everything they can between now and the tournament on the pitch to show that they deserve to be there, there will be a number of fans that will also be looking to try and make sure they are able to have the most enjoyable experiences possible.

Many will be throwing viewing parties therefore they will be looking at getting the best TVs and sound equipment possible, while others will be looking for the best sportsbooks where they can gamble on the games to be played as they find this activity just one of the many ways in which the sport can be further enjoyed. Indeed, those that like to wager will want to place bets on the sites listed at thesportsgeek as these are the platforms that are considered to be the best, thus ensuring the top World Cup experience can be had.

On the field, managers will be finalizing their final squads in preparation for the tournament, with teams allowed to have 26 players in the squad for this competition; a figure that is slightly greater than the 23 that they have usually been allowed to take.

However, as we have mentioned, you would have thought countries participating in the upcoming competition would have already sent in their lists given that there are less than a few weeks to go. But, this is not the case, as there are many teams that are yet to have finalized any list or to have submitted them.

Only two of 32 nations competing have announced squad lists

According to ESPN as of November 7, only Group E participants Japan and Costa Rica have decided to name their final squad for the upcoming competition this winter. Both teams have named the players that they are planning to take to Qatar with some rather recognizable names.

However, this does mean that 30 of the other nations to be competing in the 2022 FIFA World Cup are yet to announce the teams that they are taking. Many are due to announce in the coming days, though, so it should not be too long before we get to see which stars will be on the field in the Middle East throughout November and December.

Why have most teams not announced their squad lists yet?

Some might be wondering why the vast majority of countries competing have not decided to announce their final squad lists yet, and that could be a good question given the first game of the tournament starts on November 20.

It could be due to a few reasons, with national team managers perhaps wanting as much time as possible to ensure they make the right choice, while others might be hoping on last-minute updates regarding the availability of certain players before committing to a 26-man squad.

Either way, we will all find out who will be on the plane soon enough.
