Students battling for points during one of the quarterfinal matches of the on-going Nestle Milo Secondary Schools Basketball Championship at the Asaba Stadium, Delta State.

Yejide Grammar School Ibadan, Government Secondary School, Gboko, Crowther Memorial College, Lokoja and Wesley Senior Girls Secondary School, Lagos, have qualified for the semifinals of the on-going Nestle Milo Secondary Schools Basketball Championship holding at the Asaba Stadium, Delta State.

Yejide Grammar School picked their semifinal ticket in the girls’ category by defeating Harmony Secondary School, Lokoja, Kogi State 24 to 13 points to grab the semifinals ticket with a very bold stance.
Speaking after the win, Yejide Girls coach, Yemi Abiodun, praised his team for their resilience and what he described as ‘job well done.’

He said, “I asked my players to take it easy and play their normal game without underrating their opponents.”

Also in the semifinals is Government Secondary School Gboko, who beat Government Secondary School Numan, Adamawa State By 48 to 10 points.
The one-sided encounter saw the Coach Andoa Zakaay tutored Benue Girls dominate all the four quarters 7-3, 21-3, 41-5 and 48-10 points.

In the boys cadre, Crowther Memorial College, Lokoja, Kogi State handed out a 33-26 points defeat to Government Secondary School Barracks, Cross River State, while Henson Demonstration School Benin, Edo State defeated General Muritala Muhammad College Adamawa by 39-34 points in a tension soaked encounter.
