THE Provost of Adeyemi College of Education (ACE), Ondo, Prof. Olukoya Ogen has enjoined the 3, 500 Freshers admitted for the Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) and degree programmes to preserve the next generation through the knowledge acquired in the institution.

Ogen said this during the matriculation ceremony of the new students.

The Provost disclosed that the college has the reputation for promoting quality education and teachers’ training in the nation, urging the students to associate with like minds and utilise all available opportunities in the school to excel in their studies.

“We do not only train students in the classrooms, but also teach them morals and good behaviour. It is our belief that this twin approach to teaching will see any student through the journey of life.

“Let it always be in your minds that such a great responsibility lies in your hands as future teachers. You have been commissioned to effectively pass knowledge to the next generation of young people. It means without you, the next generation will be several centuries back in knowledge, discoveries, science and civilisation. It is of paramount importance therefore, that you dutifully and diligently position yourself to be trained to adequately execute this great assignment,” he said.

He urged them to desist from all unlawful acts like cultism, moral decadence, disobedience to constituted authorities, indecent dressing and other vices.
