At ordination service, Ndukuba creates mission zones, realigns Archdeaconries
The Bishop of the Diocese of Abuja and Primate of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), The Most Rev. Dr. Henry Ndukuba, has ordained four Deacons and two Priests for the Diocese, charging them to make a difference in their domains and this generation. The ordained Deacons are: Barnabas Sule; Dogo Mishark; Musa Sunday; Abraham Luka and Hassan Dauda, while the priests include Gbenga Fatoye and Chima Eziamara.
Speaking to journalists immediately after the ordination, Ndukuba urged the ordinands to hold unto God from whom their blessing will come. He prayed God to uphold and sustain them in their ministries.
He said: “We pray that the Lord will equip them, strengthen them, empower them, and day-by-day renew their zeal, commitment, faith to follow Jesus and obey the Word of God, and to commit themselves to prayer and ministry of the Word of God and the sacrament of the new covenant.”
Ndukuba also used the occasion to announce the creation of mission zones or parishes, which he said were to grow into full-fledged parishes. He tasked the archdeaconries to groom them and establish churches in some specified areas, such as Wuse 2 and Utako. The Primate, who asked all priests of the Diocese to meet him for transfer letters, said priests would be posted to headquarters of the mission zones for special works of mission. He also announced some readjustment in the composition of the Archdeaconries of the Diocese.
The preacher and Bishop of Kafanchan, The Rt. Rev. Marcus Dogo, counselled them to render services to God with clean hands and pure hearts, so that their services will be acceptable to Him.
