Bank lights up Adekunle Ajasin Varsity’s research centre
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS), the First Bank PLC., recently donated a complete set of solar power system to the Centre for Bio-computing and Drug Development (CBDD) of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba- Akoko, Ondo State.
Items donated included; 10 solar panels, 20 Gaston batteries, 5KVA Inverter, voltage regulator and others.
Presenting the items, the Business Manager, Ikare-Akoko branch of the bank, Mr. Niyi Awotomilusi, said the bank is impressed by the efforts of the CBDD to research into the cure for dreaded diseases such as Ebola Fever, diabetes, Lassa Fever and sickle cell anaemia.
Receiving the items, the Deputy VC (Administration), Prof. Francis Oyebade, who represented the VC, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, called other financial institutions and corporate organisations to help develop public institutions in their environment.
In his remarks, the Acting Director of the Centre, Dr. Posi Omotuyi, said the gesture would go a long way to solve some of the problem of the research centre.
