The Anglican Bishop of Warri, the Rt. Revd. Christian Ide has charged the Council of Knights of the diocese to be fishers of men. He gave the charge during an interactive section with them at Ibru Centre Agbarha-Otor in Delta State.

The knights, as a group of people with avowed commitment and passion for the Church’s cause, were reminded at a three-day retreat that the church is entrusted with the mission of making disciples of all nations.

The Bishop urged the knights to rise as knights of old and soldiers of Christ to daily fight for the expansion of God’s Kingdom and depopulate the kingdom of darkness.

Also, the Warri Diocesan Knights and Dames with the Ladies, under the leadership of Sir Emmanuel Abulu, as President and Sir Wilson Eruwe as the Secretary were at Ibru International Ecumenical Centre Agbarha-Otor between July 4 and 6, 2019 for the 18th edition of their yearly Retreat with the theme: Fishers of Men taken from Luke 5:10. The Council Chaplain, Ven. Michael Onoraro took them on expositions of various tools for fishing of men, which include Knowledge and Prayer.

The Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Akoko-Edo and the Coordinator of Youth for the Church of Nigeria, Rt. Revd. Jolly Oyekpen was also at the programme as the principal Resource Person. He charged the knights to examine themselves and look inward.

He said no one is more special than another in God’s presence, adding that all men will stand before God, including the knights. Therefore, they should remove the speck in their eyes before launching into the deep to fish men.
