Christ The Redeemer’s College holds valedictory service
It was a joyful and memorable day, recently, for students, parents, staff and management of Christ The Redeemer’s College Christhill, (CRC) Sagamu, Ogun State, as the school held its 18th Valedictory ceremony for the class of Divine Hope 2019.
The excited students thrilled guests to some fun activities, as they showcased their talents in music, drama and cultural dance, among others.
One of the graduating students, Asobi Favour, said the college had impacted them, both morally and academically.
“We have been prepared to face future challenges. I have not only passed through college, but the college has also made a positive impact on me. We have been taught to shine as light and keep the hope alive,” she said.
The college principal, Pastor Antoinette Omo-Osagie urged the graduating students to keep hope alive wherever they go.
She said: “We have taught you to respect others and be of service to people around you. The light of Christ has been deposited in you to shine wherever you find yourself in your academic pursuits.
“As you stand out in all your efforts and maintain the standard you have learnt from the college, you have been grounded morally and spiritually in faith not to move away from the hope of Christ.”
She explained that the school’s vision and mission statement is a total commitment to academic excellence and entrepreneurial life skills.
“Dare to be different and stand up for the light. The college has equipped you with sellable and sustainable life skills in a biblical integrated environment,” she said.
Prof. Daniel Gberevbie, who represented Vice-Chancellor of Covenant University, urged the graduating students to put all they had learned in the course of their studies to good use.
In his speech titled: instilling Hope ln A Generation ln Times like This, Gberevbie said to achieve success in life; they should be hardworking, focused and delay gratification to achieve goals in life.
He said: “Everyone has the capacity to strive to get the best in life. People will only patronise you when they know you have worth. As you graduate from the college to obtain degrees in the university, be focused and upright. Choose your friend wisely.
“Success is a thing of the mind, and if you are determined to succeed in life, you have to be dedicated and let hard work be your watch word.”
