Church Of Nigeria presents Onuoha as Archbishop Of Owerri
The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) has presented Most Rev’d David O.C. Onuoha (DOCO), as Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Owerri.
The presentation, which was performed by Primate of the Church, Most Rev’d Henry Ndukuba at the Cathedral Church of Advent, Life Camp, Gwarinpa, Abuja, was one of the activities that marked the 13th General Synod of the Church of Nigeria. The event was attended by delegates from the House of Bishops, House of Clergy and House of Laity from all Dioceses in the country including former Governor of Imo State, Rt. Hon. Sir Emeka Ihedioha.
The Preacher and Bishop of Lokoja, Most Rev’d Emmanuel Egbunu, enjoined the clergy to continue to establish the reign of God in this dispensation.
Taking his text from 1Peter 5:1-5, the Bishop urged the New Archbishop to be an example to the flock he is called to shepherd.
Egbunu said Peter though, the head of the early church exhorted and implored the people he worked with. He called on the new Archbishop to exercise oversight over God’s sheep, and not to give orders/commands, but lead and be an example to the flock.
The preacher also called on the clergy, who are now in the frontline, to take their duties with commitment and total sacrifice.
