The President of Rotary Club of Ikoyi, Rotarian Christopher Ehiogie, has pledged responsible and transparent use of the club’s resources towards creating a lasting impact on the community.

Speaking during his investiture as the club’s president, Ehiogie urged guests to partner with the club in translating its vision into reality.

Ehiogie, who is the 42nd president of the club, said, appreciated members of the club for the opportunity to serve, acknowledging the sacrifices of past leaders for building the strong foundation upon which the club stands.

He added: “Today is much more than the investiture of a president. It is a renewal of our collective commitment to the ideals of Rotary and to the communities that look to us for hope and meaningful intervention.

“For the 2026/2027 Rotary year, our leadership direction is anchored on a compelling commitment. For us, creating lasting impact means going beyond activities that end when the photographs are taken. It means undertaking sustainable projects whose benefits remain long after this Rotary year has ended.

“It means strengthening our club, engaging our members, developing young people, building strategic partnerships and directing our resources towards projects with measurable and enduring benefits.

“As I accept this responsibility today, therefore, I extend an invitation. I invite every member of the Rotary Club of Ikoyi to take ownership of this Rotary year. I invite our corporate and institutional partners to work with us.”

Former President of the club, Rotarian Augustine Irabor, also urged the guests to partner with the club, noting that with their kind support, encouragement and partnerships, the club will successfully execute the identified projects and create lasting impact in the community.

The Chairman of the occasion, Otunba Femi Dina, described Ehiogie as a fantastic gentleman who takes his duties very seriously, assuring that he would “make a big success of this position.”

The keynote speaker, Prof. Abiodun Osiyemi, recalled how the Rotary Club of Ikoyi was formed, urging the new leadership to indeed create lasting impact in the community.

The immediate past president of Rotary Club of Ikoyi, Rotarian Clare Omatseye, thanked the club for the privilege to serve, revealing the club executed 21 outstanding projects under her watch.
