The Nawair-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria (NUDS), Lagos Zone, has embarked on two major development projects worth N120 million aimed at improving education and strengthening its operational capacity across its branches.

The Zonal Chairman, Alhaji Abdul-Akeem Atanda Abdul-Salami, made the announcement during the unveiling of the annual Hijrah calendars and the celebration of the one year anniversary of Zonal excos, held at the Nawair-Ud-Deen Central Mosque and Islamic Centre in Idi-Oro, Mushin, Lagos.

He noted that the first project is the completion of NUDS Zonal comprehensive school comprising kindergarten, nursery, primary, junior secondary and senior secondary schools located in Owutu, Ikorodu.

According to the chairman, the project, estimated at N70 million, is aimed at promoting both academic excellence and moral development among young learners.

He stated that the second project, which is estimated to cost N50 million, involves the establishment of a printing press to serve the society’s growing administrative and educational needs.

“Considering that our Society currently has 23 branches and approximately fifteen schools within the state, this venture will significantly reduce printing costs and enhance operational efficiency,” he said.

Abdul-Salami disclosed that more than N11 million has already been raised through donations from members, schools, and supporters. He added that initial production activities, including notebook printing, have already commenced.

He called on members, philanthropists, and corporate bodies to support the initiatives, emphasising that the projects would have lasting benefits for both the organisation and the wider community.

The event also featured the installation of Alhaja Rahmotallahi Olatundun Ogunmuyiwa as the Iya Sunnah of the Lagos Zone.
