Over 2000 members of Daystar Christian Centre will benefit from various skills put together by the church to help members and non-members overcome challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The church’s Chief Operation Officer, Pastor Kenny Folarin, said the training will be virtual, and that plans have reached advanced stage for its commencement tomorrow. He explained that the empowerment is part of the church’s Christian social responsibilities to the society.

He said: “For us as a church, COVID -19 is not a period for lamentation, but for liberation of minds. Our usual Daystar Skills Acquisition Programme (DSAP) will be held online this time around. It is an avenue, where we train members and non-members to empower their minds with relevant skills to generate more income for themselves and families.”

Folarin, who noted that the Coronavirus pandemic had changed the landscape of most operations, said forward thinking organisations must leverage on what is happening to advance their cause.

DSAP’s Registrar, Paul Nwaolisa, said the programme would be held via Zoom with about 10 skills, which include Fashion design; Graphic design; Generators repair; and Cake-making, among others, would be taught.

Daystar Christian Centre, Lagos under the leadership of Dr. Sam and Nike Adeyemi has a mission “to empower you and to discover, develop, release and maximise our potentials in God.”
