The Law Of Dedication
Since Jesus Christ was born under the law, in fulfillment of the law, both the purification, sacrifice and the dedication offering sacrifice were done.

Clearly, two distinct sacrifices took place: one was a sin offering or ablution, a purification offering for the woman for her to be clean from her flow of blood. The other was a burnt offering sacrifice for the dedication of the new born baby. This is as stated in the law.

“And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation unto the priest. Who shall offer it before the LORD, and make atonement for her; and she shall be cleansed from the issue her of blood. This is the law for she that hath giving birth to a male or female. And if she be not able to bring a lamb then she shall bring two turtles or if two young pigeons; the one for the (dedication) burnt offering, and the other for the sin offering.” Lev.12:6-8 (emphasis added by me)

It is true that Jesus Christ became our sin offering when he died for us at Calvary. But the dedication offering still stands. It was not annulled or abolished. It is still valid. The law of dedication still stands. It is a very important act. In fact, it is imperative and mandatory.

When Jesus Christ died on the cross He redeemed us from sin and from the powers of darkness. 1 Peter 1 v 18, 19. Jesus fully played His part. We also need to play our own part by dedicating ourselves unto God. Dedication has nothing to do with redemption. It is a declaration of one’s allegiance and ownership. Dedication and Redemption are two separate acts.

For further study, read Nehemiah 12: 27 & 43, Numbers 7:87-89, Ezra 6:17, 2Chronicles 7:3, 12-18. You will notice throughout these references that the sin offering is separate from the dedication burnt offering. There are great spiritual transactions that take place when one is dedicated before an altar. “But he that is joined unto the Lord is one Spirit.” 1 Cor.6:17

Let us consider the importance of the word “joined” in this scripture. “They joined themselves also unto Baal Peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.” Psa.106:28

“For this cause will a man go away from his father and mother and be joined to his wife and they be one flesh.” Gen 2:24 BBE

When one is dedicated before an altar several things transpire:
• A marriage union is contracted.

• The physical personality is joined to the spiritual personality and they become one.

• Since the spiritual governs the physical, it is the character of the higher (spiritual) personality that superimposes his attributes and will on the lesser (physical) personality.

In some families and communities, they encounter spirits both physically and spiritually. I know a family that almost all those living in a particular house have seen a spirit in the form of a strange woman sweeping the compound with a broom in the early hours of the morning.

In a certain hospital, any patient that sleeps in a particular ward always has nightmares. Such places must have had altars raised unto the devil in the past.

Just as Jacob raised an altar at Bethel and it became an expressway for angels to ascend and descend, when satanic dedications are carried out, the opposite will occur.

Monsters, masquerades, snakes and wild beasts will oppress in the dream and at the place of the negative altar. If being dedicated unto Satan can cause such upheaval, just imagine what can happen when something is properly dedicated unto the LORD. Jesus says no power can pluck out from the hand of the Father that which is committed unto Him. John 10:28, 29.

Paul declared; “He is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day”. 2 Tim 1: 12. God Can Only Guard, Protect and Keep That Thing That Has Been Officially Committed, Dedicated, And Entrusted into His Care. This Is Done by Observing the Laws of Dedication.
