Noah had to spend many years to construct an ark, because he believed God’s promise to destroy everything present on earth with flood.

Noah’s neighbours mocked him during that period, but he never gave up. Can your faith survive such hardship and a test of time? You can possess such faith.

Many Christians don’t know what faith is all about, or how to practise it. The answer can be seen in Hebrews chapter 11.

Brethren, your confidence in God’s promises will be strengthened by the power of faith and you will be prepared for those times the Lord beckons on you to move mountains.

Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him for righteousness.

The book of Daniel chapter 3 talks about Shadrach, Meshach and , who were confronted with the option of obeying king Nebuchadnezzar or risk being thrown into the fire.

Nebuchadnezzar was powerful and tangible, but these men chose to obey the invisible God, and God did not disappoint them. He delivered them.

Hebrews 11:6 says “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Faith in God makes whatever fears you have about a terrible situation disappear.

God can only be touched by faith and you can also know Him by faith. People of God such as Abraham, Sarah, Moses, Joshua, Jacob, David, Paul, Joseph and Samuel, among others, all lived by faith.

When you operate on faith, God approves you. According to Hebrews 11:30, “by faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.”

Faith increases your knowledge in Christ. It makes you obtain God’s grace and peace. Remembering His promises makes you act like Him, and steering clear from worldly ways.

Our faith may be shaken or disrupted at times, but we must understand that God is at work behind it all. Let us build a relationship with God through faith.

Hold on to His promises this year, never give up and He will fulfil His words.
