FUOYE partners Alabama Varsity in new growth
The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Oye, Ekiti (FUOYE), Prof. Olukayode Soremekun, last May, led a team from the school to the United States to sign a cooperation agreement with the .
The MoU includes staff and student’s exchange, as well as research collaboration.
Speaking on the agreement, Prof. Soremekun, who has enjoyed a long professional relationship with different universities in the US, Canada and the UK, said, “this is only the beginning in the area of partnership for FUOYE.”
Locally, the VC has held meetings with different key stakeholders, including the state governor, Ayo Fayose; traditional rulers in Oye and Ikole Ekiti, as well as the leadership of Ekiti Parapo and others.
The school has also entered into public private partnership with Vitafoam Nigeria Ltd., for the construction of student’s hostels.
Speaking of plans to introduce Mass Communication, Political Science, International Relations to the school curriculum, Soremekun disclosed that the school authority recently forwarded 23 new academic programmes to the National Universities Commission (NUC) for approval, while it plans to commence a Faculty of Pharmacy.
