In the New Testament, before Jesus Christ could open the gates into the Holy of Holies, blood needed to be shed.

Of course, from the Old Testament days, this veil into the Holy of Holies could only be penetrated once every year on the Day of Atonement, which required the shedding of the blood of an innocent lamb. But when Jesus came, He abolished the yearly sacrifice by giving His own life once and for all, forever opening up a way for all mankind to pass through that gate directly to God by the Blood of Christ.

May every gate in your life that requires the shedding of blood before they open begin to open in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Opening The Gates Of Heaven

Another very major gate every man born of a woman has to struggle to open while here on earth is the gate of Heaven.

“And Jacob awoke out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place, and I knew it not. And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is THE GATE OF HEAVEN.” – Genesis 28 verses 16 & 17

These scriptures show clearly that Heaven has a gate. When the gates of Heaven opened over Jacob’s life, he experienced angels ascending and descending upon him. In fact, that was Jacob’s first supernatural encounter, it was this open gate that catapulted him into the covenant blessing of Abraham and Isaac. The same covenant that God made with Abraham and Isaac was now made with Jacob, all at the instance of an open gate¬way into the Heavens. Jacob right from that day was elevated to another platform. That open Heaven ushered Jacob into the exclusive club of the patriarchs, resulting in the Ancient of days being given a New Name, “The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob”.

The gate of Heaven is what separates the ordinary from the extraordinary. It forms an exclusive, elitist group. It is impossible for a man to get through the gates of Heaven and remain the same. His generation will surely hear of Him. For earth and hell shall be forced to recognise he whom Heaven recognises.

It is not easy for a man to open the gate of Heaven, but Jacob did it twice. The second time was when he sent all his family, wives, children, livestock e.t.c. over the river Jabok and travailed throughout the night. In the process, Heaven’s gate opened and an angel came down. He prevailed in his supplication, and the result was that his name was changed from Jacob to Israel. He became a prince.

If one man was able to open Heaven’s gates twice, can you not open them at least once?

The Superiority Of These Gates
Before Elisha could receive a double portion of the spirit of Elijah he paid a very costly price. He then witnessed Heaven’s gate tear open as Elijah was whisked off in a chariot of fire. The mantle of Elijah fell. He tore his clothes in two, symbolising a double portion. Thereafter, a non-entity became a legend.

Heaven’s gate is the highest and greatest gate for any man to open. Men that succeed to open this very gate shall never find any other gate a hindrance to them. Whether they are gates on earth or gates under the earth, all are subject to the man that has succeeded to open the gates of Heaven.

Therefore, struggle to open the gates of heaven. For thirty years, Jesus Christ lived on the earth like every other ordinary man, unheard of, unknown. Then, the gates of Heaven opened over His life at Jordan and in three short years, he was able to achieve what most men cannot achieve in three hundred years. In fact, so much was achieved that John wrote that even the whole world cannot be able to contain the books that should be written if everything that Jesus did and achieved were to be recorded (John 21 v 23).

The day the gates of Heaven open over your life you shall achieve in one year what you could not achieve in the past twenty years.
