Gates – Part 9
“In that day shall the Lord of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of the people. And for a spirit of judgment to him, that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.” – Isaiah 28 v 5 & 6
Active warfare against the enemy is a fundamen¬tal part of the Church’s role. The kingdom of God is about overcoming the rule of satan and establishing the rule of the rightful King.
At the return of Jesus when the Church will experience His absolute authority in and overall situations, in and over all nations. However, leading up to that time, the Church is going to have war. The battle of the age is about to unfold and satan in the last effort to retain his position as world ruler is going to increasingly exert his authority, especially at the city, national and global gates.
Worldwide persecution of Christians is coming. The clamping down of religious freedom is imminent, in cities, and nations. God is raising up an army that will turn the battle to the gate of the enemy and as many, as shall take up the challenge shall receive special endowments. Isaiah 28 v 5, 6
• A crown or diadem of Glory and Beauty
• The spirit of Judgment
• Strength from the Lord
God never wanted the Church to be on the defensive alone. A defensive Church is a retreating Church, while an offensive Church advances. The only advancement will keep the enemy moving backward.
The Keys Of The Kingdom: The keys that the Lord Jesus Christ obtained for us by His victory over the powers of darkness, death and the grave are the keys of the Kingdom. Revelation 1 v 18. Keys are necessary for everyday use to open doors, locks, gates, safes, and prisons.
Keys also symbolise authority. In cities that have mayors, it is usual for such officials as part of their ceremonial attire to have a key suspended from a gold chain around their necks as a symbol of authority.
“And I will give unto thee the keys of the Kingdom of heaven: and whatever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. – Matthew 16 v 19
By these keys, we are to invade satanic strongholds, break them open, force enemy gates in the spiritual realm of cities and institutions open, and unlock the spiritual prison gates where people have been locked up.
Prevailing Prayers: “Peter, therefore, was kept in prison: but prayer was made WITHOUT CEASING of the church unto God for him” – Act 12 v 5
One major instrument in weakening and breaking down of any gate is persistence. Constant bombardment will eventually cause the gates to give in.
Praises: Praises help one penetrate any gate whether it be the gate of God or the gates below. “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise” Psalm 100 v 4
“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God… And suddenly…the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed” – Act 16 v 25, 26.
Prophetic Declarations: “Lift up your heads O ye gates and be ye lift up ye everlasting doors, and the King of glory shall come in.” – Psalm 24 v 7
That was the prophetic declaration Jesus uttered when He descended into the gates of hell. Prophetic utterances have the power to destroy every gate.
The Anointing: “Thus saith the Lord to His ANOINTED, Cyrus…I will…open before him the two leaved gates” – Isaiah 45 v 1
The anointing enables the destruction of yokes or gates in people’s lives, cities, and nations.
The Sole Of Your Feet: “Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you…” – Joshua 1 v 3. The gate of Jericho was closed up. It was a very strong impenetrable gate. God told Joshua to lead Israel to march around the walls and they collapsed.
