One of the ways to learn is by asking questions. Every brilliant and studious student asks his teachers questions.

Right questions draw out answers that shed greater light on the subject being discussed.

In the book of Isaiah, God invited man to ask Him questions; He wants the people to reason with Him.

“Come now, and let us reason together,” says the Lord.” (Isaiah 1:18) NKJV

Again, in Jeremiah 33:3 He says

“Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.”

God is not afraid of your questions. He wants you to come with them. He will teach you things you didn’t know before, if you dare to ask Him.

Jesus Asked His Teachers Questions When He Was Young

“When he was twelve years old, they went up to the Feast, according to the custom.

After the Feast was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it.

After three days, they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.

Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers.” (Luke 2:42-48)

As young as Jesus was at the age of twelve, He sat among teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Why was He asking them questions?

Why didn’t He just sit there and take in all they said?

Though these reasons were not expressly documented, but from God’s Word, we know that Jesus was full of the Holy Ghost. He was anointed and taught by the Holy Spirit.

“But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things”. (1 John 2:20) NKJV

“But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.” (1 John 2:27) NKJV

The Holy Ghost teaches believers all things. I believe the Holy Spirit had been teaching Jesus from His childhood.

He was asking questions from the teachers, comparing notes with them. Unlike many believers today, He did not just take all they said in without cross-checking with His personal studies with the Holy Spirit.

Little wonder everyone who heard Him was amazed at His understanding and the answers He gave the teachers, when they also asked Him questions. His understanding was beyond His age. He was deep and very sound! He had been taught by the Holy Ghost!

Unlike the developed nations researching why things are the way they are, when Africans don’t understand something, they turn it into a god and worship it.

When current from thunder kills a man or sets ablaze a farm, the black man worships it, instead of finding the reason why it’s so.

Every religion thrives in ignorance! Research and fact finding is the secret of the developed world.

Today, when believers go to church, they keep their brain at home. They swallow what the preacher says without giving it a thought.

They don’t know the difference between sound doctrines and philosophies of men. They are tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine.

They are easily deceived by fake teachers. If you have been doing personal studies, if you allow the Holy Spirit to teach you, like Jesus, you will have lots of questions to ask your teachers and the Holy Spirit.
