• Looking Down On Yourself
“I will praise you; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are your works; and that my soul knows right well,” Psalm 139:14.
To the psalmist, he is not an error of creation but a fearfully and wonderfully made masterpiece. He is made like God (Gen. 1:26-28). Do you know that despising oneself amount to despising God’s spirit within you. Despising the grace within you is the beginning of sorrow. Never look down on yourself; you are God’s masterpiece.
When you look down on yourself, mentally you have accepted your ‘fate’ as divine ordination, which by mental picture and conception may not be thwarted or changed. “For as he thinks in his heart so is he,” Prov. 23:7
When you change your conception you change your delivery, because you can only deliver what you have conceived.

• Looking Unto Men
“Thus says the Lord; cursed be the man that trusts in man, and makes flesh his arms, and whose heart departs from the Lord. For he shall be like the heath (bush) in the desert, and shall not see when good comes; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited,” Jeremiah 17:5,6.
To put trust in the confession of men concerning you is to run errand for the world. The above scripture reveals that trusting men is bringing oneself under a curse. This is because worthless is the help of man.
“Give us help from trouble; for vain is the help of man,” Psalm 60:11, 108:12
In 2 Chronicles 16:2, 12, we see a man who believed solely on the doctor’s report and examination, rather than seeking the Lord, he sought the help of man. What has the doctor said concerning your health? What is he reporting? Whose report do you believe? Know that the person whose report your believe determines the result you will get.
No matter your wound or sickness, never react like Ephraim in Hosea 5:13: “When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian and sent to King Jareb; yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.”
Lady Stella Ukaumunna in concluding her article on Arthritis (the most common cause of disability) said: “God heals and we care, only God cures, the doctor only care.” Why base your conclusive report on the one who cares, rather than on the one who cures.
Never, you put your trust in man because he is helpless and his life is limited (See Psalm 146:3, Isaiah 2:22).
• Looking Away From God
When you take away your eyes from God your creator, you detach yourself from the source and fountain of life, all goodness and favour. Certainly, you will experience great failure without God.

Reasons People Look Away From God
• Accepting fate rather than working by faith.
• Impatience, wanting it now without accessing God’s timing.
• Being carried away by what the eye sees.
• Allowing people to determine your direction.
• Taking shade outside God’s written word.
• Not trusting God’s living word.
• Not understanding God’s spoken word.
Every man’s existence is wrapped in the word. When you look into men, it will result to them looking down on you. Higher in the ladder of life is the hand that gives than the hand that receives. Those you run to psychologically are placed higher than you and may take advantage of you or looking down on you. When you make men your point of reception, you place them higher than you are in the spiritual ladder of life.
Please make this confession now!
Oh! Lord my God, from this day forward, I reverse from the spiritual position of failure to success, from a beggar to a giver, from grass to grace, from sore mind to sound mind, from sickness to health, from sorrow to joyful sound/step, from shame to fame, in the name of Jesus Christ, I refuse to be frustrated and I refuse to fail, Amen.
