The African Church Lagos Provincial Installation Ceremony of Dr. Olusegun Adebisi Adenekan, as the second Provincial Vice Lay president and fundraising towards N50m Lagos Province Secretariat, held on February 23, 2020. It was accompanied by a football match, which the preliminaries had been played and the finals were held on February 22, 2020. This was the second edition organised across the Diocese.

Bro. Adekunle Jaiyesimi, the chairman, Planning Committee and vice Lay president of the Lagos Mainland Diocese, said the idea was to evangelise the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, and to bring the youth together and win more souls to the kingdom.

Ven. M. O. Beckley, sports coordinator said the football match was to collaborate the installation and to have a Provincial team to represent the African Church in other football matches.

The newly installed Dr. Olusegun Adebisi Adenekan, in his speech, mentioned three-points agenda such as (IYE) I – Investment, Y – Youth, E – Evangelism.

He said: “It is important to posit here that our collective intention at the Lagos province of the African Church in the next couple of years shall, among other things, be to embark on viable and sustainable business investments, empower the youths in all spheres, and most importantly, intensify our evangelical programmes and activities.

The Provincial Archbishop, Most Rev. Julius Oludotun Ogunseye, in his sermon: ‘Call For Service’ took his text from Mark 10:42-45, 1 Peter 5:2. He encouraged everyone to always be available for God’s call, 1John 4:14.
“Live for what you can give and not for what you will get. Live by example, and let the true Word of God guide you,” he said.
God Bless You.
