ECWA dedicates new building, thanks Police

ECWA-Headquarters-1211x499Recentiy, the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Apapa, Lagos, dedicated a new church building with about 1, 800 seating capacity. The Minister-in-charge, Rev. Dr. Iliya Jiboh, while expressing delight over the completion of the building, said, “we discovered that we needed a bigger church in 2005 and between April 4, 2011 and April 24, 2016 we were able to complete the church building and today, we are gathered here to dedicate this building to the Lord. We thank God for what we have been able to do within the past five years and four months. He put the cost of the building at over N120m.

The elated Associate Pastor, Bitrus Samuel, said, “this project will help our effort at propagating the gospel. We have people from Adamawa, Benue, Kogi, Katsina worshipping with us, as well as people from Chibok.

The pastor, who used the occasion to commiserate with states ravaged by terrorists, said, “my message to people troubled by Boko Haram is ‘you need not give up because this is what is bound to happen, as we are in perilous time and your salvation is near.”

Jeremiah Bello, the church secretary explained that the need to leave the barracks and look for a land, where a bigger church could be built arose, when the Nigeria Police ordered all churches within their barracks to vacate or be taken over by the Nigeria police Chaplain. That necessitated our decision and we are grateful to God because we are not only moving to our permanent site, but to a bigger church.

“We are grateful to the Nigeria Police for the opportunity given us to serve God over three decades ago and we didn’t pay a dime. We have also founded two churches across the lagoon, to ease the burden of our members crossing the river to worship here every Sunday. We will not relent in spreading the gospel.
