God’s Kingdom Society (GKS)-The Church of the Living God has commenced the anniversary of the birth of the Lord and Saviour Jesust Christ with the theme: “Freedom Day.”
The celerbation started last Sunday at various centres in Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, United Kingdom (UK), Canada and United States of America on designated dates, according to a schedule that had been drawn up for the event this year.
Acting Publicity Secretary of the Church, Brother Emmanuel Oriaku, in a statement, said the yearly Freedom Day celebrations would continue every Sunday in the month of October.
The statement added that the President of the Church, Brother Felix Ekundayo Adedokun would deliver the main sermons during the Divine Services, entitled: “Are We Disciples Of Christ Indeed?” and “Was Christ Born On Christmas Day?”
The Freedom Day Divine Services, according to the statement, would bring together members and friends of the Church to reflect deeply on the significance of Christ‘s life, His character and teachings.
The celebration would feature sermons, musical performances and special thanksgiving to God.
GKS,as an international Christian organisation was established in 1934 in Lagos, Nigeria and wholly dedicated to the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It has been commemorating the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ every October since the early years of its formation in the 1930s, through the founding instrument of Saint Gideon M. Urhobo of blessed memory.
