(Psalm 119: 161-176; Lev. 19: 33-37; 1Corinth 13: 1-13; Luke 10:25-37)

Therefore, radical hospitality is the gospel lived out through welcome, mercy, and justice. It is evangelism not only with words but with deeds that touchedthe stranger at the gate, embracing the outsider, and showing the world that Christ’s love is stronger than the walls men build.

1. Breaking Down Walls of Division (Leviticus 19:33–37; Luke 10:25–37) Humanity has always built walls of religion, culture, tribe, and status that divide us from one another. These walls are often reinforced by fear, pride, and prejudice. But God’s word calls His people to something radically different.

• God gave us a Command (Lev. 19): Israel was told to love the stranger as themselves, remembering they too were once strangers in Egypt. This command breaks down the wall of exclusion.

• Christ gave us an Example (Luke 10): In the parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus shows mercy that crosses boundaries of ethnicity, religion, and social status. The Samaritan broke down the wall of hostility by touching the wounded man.

• We have a Mandate: Evangelism begins not with sermons but with tearing down barriers. To see every person as neighbour is to see them as someone Christ died for. Evangelism begins with breaking down walls and seeing every person as neighbour, regardless of tribe, tongue, or social standing. Where men build walls, Christ commands us to break them down.

2. Building Bridges of Love (1 Corinthians 13:1–13)
Paul reminds us that love is the supreme ethicthat validates every ministry. Without love, preaching becomes noise, prophecy becomes empty, and knowledge becomes arrogance. Love is the bridge that connects us to others when walls of prejudice, tribalism, and corruption try to keep us apart.

• Love is the Foundation: Evangelism without love is hollow. It is love that gives credibility to our witness.

• Love is Action: Radical hospitality is love made visible through bridges built where walls once stood. It is the Samaritan crossing cultural boundaries to bind wounds.

• Love is the power that Transforms: When the church practices radical hospitality, it demonstrates a love that touches lives, heals divisions, and points directly to Christ.Evangelism is not only proclamation but demonstration of love that builds bridges and touches lives with the gospel. Walls divide, but love builds bridges—and those bridges carry the gospel to the stranger at the gate.

3. Building our life on the Word That Endures (Psalm 119:161–176)
The psalmist, though persecuted, delights in God’s word because it is eternal and trustworthy. Unlike human systems that collapse under corruption, tribalism, or prejudice, the word of God stands firm.

• The word is guidance in Righteousness: Scripture is not just read; it shapes us to walk in justice, mercy, and truth.

• The word gives us strength in Persecution: When rulers fail and society falters, the word sustains us with courage to practice radical hospitality.

• The word “gingers” our audacity for Hospitality: Hospitality is not a cultural nicety but a biblical command. The word insists that love, mercy, and welcome are marks of holiness.Radical hospitality is not a social trend but a biblical mandate rooted in God’s eternal word. When we build on the word that endures, it builds in us a love that welcomes the stranger at the gate.

Conclusion

Beloved, radical hospitality is not just about opening our doors, but about opening our hearts. It is the gospel lived out in welcome, in compassion, and in love without limits. When we embrace the stranger, we embrace Christ Himself. As we go forth today, may we be a people who make room at the table, extend grace beyond boundaries, and embody the Kingdom of God in every act of welcome. Let us live so that no one ever doubts they belong, because in Christ, all are home.
