Worried by the economic downturn and the hardship faced by Nigerians former wife of a former president of Nigeria, Mrs. Taiwo Obasanjo, in collaboration with other anointed men and women of God, held a one-day prayer programme to intercede for the nation, as well, as pray for its return to the path of greatness.

Tagged: “Call to true National Repentance,” the programme was aimed at bringing Nigerians of all denominations together to purposely pray and ask God to intervene in the nation’s affairs, both economically and politically and to touch each family, business and home for restoration, renewal and transformation.

Obasanjo, convener of the programme, said God ministered to her to assemble men and women of God to pray for the nation and seek its transformation in accordance with 2 Chronicle 7:13-14.

She said: “God loves this nation very much and He is not ready to give up on Nigerians. He asked me to move and gather Nigerians to pray for forgiveness.”She noted that it is only after true repentance that there would be restoration for the country.

Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Southwest Chapter, Archbishop Magnus Atilade, who hailed Obasanjo for the initiative, believed with the prayer session, recession and hardship have come to an end in the country.
