The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but victory comes from the lord

“And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us? And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him: And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them. And Moses said to the people, Fear you not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will show to you to day: for the Egyptians whom you have seen to day, you shall see them again no more for ever” (Exodus 14: 5-7, 13).

As a Christian, your victory and success is sure, but without God, you are bound to fail. In all our endeavours, we are expected to make all necessary preparations to be victorious. A horse that would be taken to battle must be trained and nourished. Likewise, our minds and souls have to be fed with mental and spiritual foods to prepare for the battles ahead.

Preparation is the key to victory. It’s better we are over-prepared than to be under-prepared for our tasks, but God must be obeyed, whether victory seems sure or not. We work very hard every day. We have no assurance of victory in our endeavours, but we have to keep on trusting God that He will grant us victory in His own time and in His own way.

When Joseph was sold into slavery, he didn’t obtain victory until thirteen years had elapsed. If you can wait on God, He will surely grant you your heart desires. Victory, success and accomplishment are given by the Almighty God. Though the good fight of faith must be fought with all the means available to us, our reliance for victory, success and accomplishments must be on the Lord. Do not be deceived that you earned success through your hard work, wisdom or skill, as every blessing comes from God in Heaven. You can easily become proud, when you have the false notion that your achievement is due to your own doing. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted. By God’s power, we are able to achieve victory. It’s not by our might or power, but by the spirit of God. If you work in flesh, you can’t realise God gives victory and success to you.

Without armies, God can win battles, but armies can’t win battles without the Hand of God. Success generated by humans will not be able to stand the test of time. We can’t bear fruits without Him. For us to be fruitful in life, we must remain in Christ and forsake all forms of unrighteousness.
