Uche, Olawuyi advise against rigging and vote buying

Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr. Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu Uche and the newly installed Archbishop of Lagos, His Grace, The Most Revd. Dr. Isaac Ayobami Olawuyi have lauded the role of media in helping to stabilise the polity.

The duo also warned disgruntled and Godless politicians against rigging and vote buying that could disrupt free and fair election. Uche and Olawuyi spoke at the Enthronement and Presentation Thanksgiving Service for the newly Enthroned Archbishop of Lagos, His Grace, The Most Revd. Dr. Isaac Ayobami Olawuyi, The Lay President, Archdiocese of Lagos, Sir Peter Olorunfemi and Sir Gbolahan Olayomi, as the new Lay President, Diocese of Lagos, held at the Wesley Cathedral Olowogbowo, Lagos.

The clerics called on Nigerians to pray fervently for the nation and peaceful conduct of forthcoming elections. The event was attended by dignitaries including the governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Babajide Sanwoolu, His Deputy. Hon. Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, over thirty Bishops/Archbishops from Methodist Church Nigeria and other denominations, among others.
