You can be in church and not in God’s presence — Atuboyedia warns Christians
Bishop Enoch Atuboyedia has charged Christians across the country to always strive to enter the presence of God and not just be in church services to fulfill all righteousness.
He gave this charge, last Sunday, while delivering a sermon at the Immanuel Anglican Church, Turuja, Abuloma, River State during his episcopal visit.
Taking his text from Psalm 15, the Bishop said, that Christians are in church does not necessarily mean that they are in the presence of God, adding that there are certain conditions that have to be fulfilled to make one to be considered as being in God’s presence.
He noted that some of the conditions include to always walk uprightly, deal with people righteously in all your undertakings, speak the truth from a sincere heart, do no evil to anybody and self, take no reproach against anyone, do not support evil, honour people that fear God, fulfill promises, do not take advantage of people through loans, and do not accept bribe.
Bishop Atuboyedia also disclosed that the church is not a social gathering, stressing that only God-like people should be considered members.
He also caution Christians to stop the art of tale bearing and check their communication style with the aim of carefully aligning it with what God wants us to be.
