Inordinate ambition bane of the nation’s woes, says Olaomo

The General Overseer, The Mantle Prayer Ministry, Oke-Isinmi, Shagamu, Ogun State, Prophet Isaac Olaomo, has identified inordinate ambition, as the major cause of the nation’s woes, adding that this has made both the leaders and the led to a desire to be rich at all costs.

He lamented that the nation’s political leaders have replaced godly values and righteousness with the desire to get rich quick.

He observed that the love of money has dethroned righteousness to the point that a righteous man can hardly get a contract from the government because he will not want to give bribes or inflate the cost of contracts.

Speaking at the 10th anniversary of his church in Ogun State, the cleric asked the lawmakers to operate on part-time basis with less attractive incentives, saying their counterparts in countries like the United States of America and others, do not earn as much as the nation’s lawmakers earn for doing the same job.

Stressing that the nations’ problem is systemic, Olaomo urged governments at the federal, state and local council levels, to engage personnel on merit, as doing this will make the right personnel occupy the right positions, aside from reducing corruption.

The cleric also called for the constitution to be reviewed to reflect current realities and to remove those clauses that are against the unity of the country.
