Keep the fire burning!

Undoubtedly, Christianity of today has become a “cold room.” The pulpit has completely lost the fire of God. This is in sharp contrast of God’s intention for believers. The church of Christ is born in the fire. This is evidenced in the day of Pentecost when the church was engulfed by unprecedented fire of God that rested on all the worshippers.

The Church Jesus Christ died for is at all times, expected to be on fire otherwise it will be equated with an ordinary market. In the Old Testament, the priests were commanded to continually keep the fire burning at the altar of God. The fire must by no means go off. The priests were specifically given the emblems upon which this fire must be made of. In many places of worship, the supposedly fire that is burning at their altars are strange fire that negate God’s word.

The comportment and dresses of worshippers in those places of worship, speak volume of whom they represent. Obviously, God cannot dwell or inhabit in the assemblies of Jezebels who dress to seduce people. Their seductive dresses betray the true worship God prescribes. These so-called worshippers who occupy exalted positions in the church, are agents of the devil. The Lord cannot excuse the excesses being paraded in churches by modern “believers” who spurn at God’s word and standards at will.

No believer will be excused in the sight of God. No reason will suffice the compromise that permits strange fire in the House of God. We must resist any form of strange fire in our midst. Strange fire quenches the fire of God in a church. What keeps the fire burning in a church is the true word of God. The champions of strange fire must be kept at bay; they must be avoided by all means. We must not condone their evil in our midst.

There is an unimaginable religious decadence world over, but only the fire of holiness will cure the menace. The crusaders of holiness should play a pivotal role in halting this strange fire. The fight may not be easy, but only a dogged spirit will stop it. Wherever we find ourselves, we must retain the fire of holiness by standing for the truth. Believers should not be careless at times like this. This is the time believers are expected to keep the fire of holiness burning in every facet of life.

There may be temptations to make adherents slide back from their convictions, but we must be rugged in our avowed commitment to serve the Lord till the end. The panacea to keeping the fire burning is the true word of God, prayer and leading a holy lifestyle. These are the weapons that will preserve the true fire. The scripture must be a companion of a serious-minded believer because it is the compass through which he navigates his way to heaven. The scripture is replete with all the arsenals Christians need to preserve God’s fire. Ceaseless prayers in all places should be the watchword of a Christian. Be resolute and keep the fire burning!
