It was, indeed, a joyful and colourful occasion penultimate Saturday, when children of Ocean Crest School, Lekki, celebrated Christmas to mark the end of activities for the year.

Held at the school’s spacious and beautiful premises, the concert was graced by many parents, who came to share in the love and joy of the Season, as well as watch their children perform on stage. And they were not disappointed.

Dressed in beautiful, appropriate costumes that reflected the purpose of the event, the children put up wonderful performances to the delight and excitement of their parents and guests. The gaily-dressed parents also added to the festive ambiance.

The theme for the day: ‘It Was A Starry Night,’ was a musical play that told the story of the night the Lord Jesus was born and other pertinent events that occurred that night. The children beautifully attired in bright and bold colours, really dazzled, as they delivered their roles perfectly.

The highlight of the concert was the presentation of ‘Shepherd Little,’ a musical play about Bethlehem’s smallest resident, who had a little trouble with the truth. So, when he made a claim that he saw a person with wings, who had an amazing story to tell, no one would believe him.

But it was not all about drama alone. There were also dances. The ballerinas turned and twirled gracefully to melodious tunes, which earned them loud ovation from the captivated audience. The cultural dancers also entertained the guests with local music and lovely dance steps.

More fun and excitement was added to the occasion when the children saw Santa Claus, who greeted and gifted them with nice items. The grotto was decorated by the school staff.

The icing on the cake was the party that took place afterwards. Parents, friends, and well-wishers took to the floor to display their own latest dance steps. It was indeed a memorable day.
