Oyebade now 40th district 9110 governor

District 9110 of Rotary International, last weekend in Lagos, installed Rotarian (Rotrn) Omobolanle Oyebade as its 40th Governor. The district comprises clubs in Lagos and Ogun states.

As Akeredolu Calls For Synergy, Donations

District 9110 of Rotary International, last weekend in Lagos, installed Rotarian (Rotrn) Omobolanle Oyebade as its 40th Governor. The district comprises clubs in Lagos and Ogun states.

Speaking at the event, the immediate Past Governor, Dr. Jide Akeredolu, called for synergy between Rotary International and the governments to improve standard of living in the country.

He urged good spirited Nigerians to donate their talents, time, and resources to uplift the club, saying government alone cannot take care of all the needs of the people.

In his acceptance speech, Oyebade disclosed that projects including the Prostrate Cancer Hospital, Free Eye Surgery Operations, interest free Micro Credit Empowerment programme of which 27 people have already benefited a N50,000 loan each to repay within eight months, would be given further boost.

To support the various projects in the pipeline, clubs and associates of the District including, Rotary Club, Maryland, Lagos; Rotary Club, Eko Atlantic; Rotary Club, Egbeda; Rotary Club, Palmgrove, Lagos; Rotary Club, Gbagada; Rotary Club, Gbagada South; and Rotary Club, Ikeja, donated handsomely.

While the Rotary Club, Gbagada South, gave a vehicle load of cement; Ogun State Government donated land for the projects. Olam PFB represented by Premender Seith also gave generously, while some people promised bags of cement and blocks.

The event also witnessed the renewal of marital vow between Rotrn Sanjeev Tandon and his spouse, Rotrn Geetika Tandon. Their 30-year-old wedding anniversary cake was cut to the admiration of all. Also, the sale of American lottery visa was concluded at the event with winners going home with different gifts.
