Residents laud completion of Nkpogu bridge
Residents of Rivers State have said the completion of phase one of Nkpogu Bridge/Road in Port Harcourt city will boost economic activities.
At the official commissioning of the bridge and groundbreaking ceremony for the Phase II of the project, a representative of Nkpogu community, Chief Ogbans Ejima, noted that the failed bridge had caused so much pain and crippled the economy of the people.
He expressed delight that the finished project will be a huge relief to the unbearable traffic situation along Aba road and Trans-Amadi axis, as the bridge links Aba road, Eleme and other various part of the state.
Another resident, Michael Woke, said the lack of a bridge had forced some people to move out from their ancestral homes.
The contractor and chairman of Monier Construction Company (MCC), Senator John Mbata, lauded the state government for given the firm the opportunity to deliver the project on time.
