Spiritual warfare

And Jacob was left alone, and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day. Genesis 32:24

We must wrest if we would rest.

And Rachel said, With great wrestling have I wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed: and she called his name Naphtali.  Genesis 30:8

What gave Rachael rest in life to have her desires met was in her wrestling.  Since the days of John the Baptist, the kingdom has to be possessed by force.

And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. Matthew 11:12.

If you will get it, go for it in prayers. Christianity is not a fanfare; it is warfare.

One of the symbols or description of the believer is a soldier

Thou, therefore, endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. 2 Timothy 2:3-4.

Soldiers go to war. They don’t sit idle or engage themselves in irrelevances in times of war. As believers, we must be engaged in spiritual warfare to possess our kingdom. Therefore, put on your armour for war.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11.

We have to pull down every stronghold and barriers to our dominion, but this is not done with normal or physical weapons.
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 2 Corinthians 10:4

We are not fighting flesh and blood, so we must look on to God.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Ephesians 6:12-18

We must be strategic in our fight, we must not fight aimlessly.

Be sober, be vigilant; because of your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 1 Peter 5:8-9

To conquer, have dominion and maintain success in life, you must fight.

A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. Ecclesiastes 3:8

If you don’t fight, you will be pushed over and around. Those that will bring the war to you on your way of success or when you are a success are often close to you: friends, family members, people you love and care for (aside from the arch-enemy- devil). It was not an enemy that betrayed Jesus, it was one of His disciples.  All these are written for our as examples.

To survive and succeed, you must learn how to fight. David was a good fighter, so he could not be pushed around, displaced or replaced.

For, said Hushai, thou knowest thy father and his men, that they be mighty men, and they be chafed in their minds, as a bear robbed of her whelps in the field: and thy father is a man of war, and will not lodge with the people. 2 Samuel 17:8

Who do you look like, God? Then fight.
The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name. Exodus 15:3

As apostle Paul finally charged his spiritual son whom he loved dearly to fight, so I charged you also to fight the fight of faith and win.

This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; 1 Timothy 1:18.

There are giants in every Promised Land. If you don’t dare them, you can’t put them down. God has given you the land, but you must fight to possess and maintain it.
