God will show you the way. He will reveal to you where to go and what to do. He will show you where your treasures are. He will open the doors and the windows (opportunities). He will show you what to do when you arrive where He led you to or what you should do with the secrets He reveals to you or the opportunity that comes your way. This determines whether you will enjoy prosperity or grumble in life.

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” Malachi 3:10

In essence, God gives you what it takes to get what you want. He gives you the ability to exercise your skills and wisdom to get what you want.

“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,” Ephesians 3:20

Your thought must run to win the crown of prosperity. You don’t succeed or prosper because you are “just” doing business or doing whatever everybody is doing, but because you adequately display the principles.
Prosperity: Riches or Wealth

Let me first differentiate between wealth and riches, as people have often misunderstood prosperity to mean cash at hand, but prosperity is beyond money at hand. It is even beyond cash in the bank, gold or silver. It encompasses wealth and riches, which include everything about the total well-being of man. It includes a good home, a good family, and ability to provide for your family and to meet kingdom needs, as well as fulfil your social and philanthropic responsibilities.

Prosperity is the total package of salvation that gives peace and joy. Riches are those physical things we can see: your car, money, cash in the bank, etc. Riches naturally depreciate and lose value with time, which is why the Bible say riches have wings and fly away.

“Wilt thou set thine eyes upon that which is not? for riches certainly make themselves wings; they fly away as an eagle toward heaven.” Proverbs 23:5

Because riches are these things we see in us or with people, we can say “that person is rich” or “used to be rich”. God warned us not to set our eyes on riches, it’s too temporal. However, wealth is enduring. You can say wealth is God. Wealth could be intangible, it may not be seen but a wealthy man has his needs met. Wealth can produce riches, but riches cannot produce wealth. To a man who has wealth, God is his present help in times of need. (Psalms 46:1)

A man of wealth is like the man in Psalms Chapter one:

“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper” Psalm 1:3
