Salvation in the Hebrew language (Yasa) means to save, help in distress, rescue, deliver and set free. Joel Houston and Jonas Myrin of Hillsong United sang a song titled: ‘No Other Name’ and they said: “One name holds weight above them all; His fame outlasts the earth He formed; His praise resounds beyond the stars and echoes in our hearts the Greatest One of all.” Jesus name is the greatest of all names. No other name can save you from sin and deliver you from all satanic oppressions than the name of Jesus. You can have full forgiveness in Christ and you can have His perfect righteousness credited to your account if you call on His name.

God has given Jesus a name that is greater than other names. Sickness is a name; barrenness is a name; untimely death is a name; delayed marriage is a name; joblessness is a name and whatever you are suffering is a name, but the name of Jesus is higher than these other names. Salvation and deliverance are in the name of Jesus. One old woman was going for a morning prayer and it was still very dark. She stumbled on a snake and then the snake shook her legs. She shouted Jesus and immediately after she shouted Jesus, the snake twisted itself and died on the spot. The days of miracles are not yet over.

Many people today are living in fears of what their neighbours or someone may do to them and of what tomorrow holds. Today, many people are going to some spiritual houses to seek for protection. Operators of these spiritual houses will give them some items to use to protect themselves, but these items do not protect them because the power of God is not in them. There is no charm that can hurt a child of God because God is His refuge. The Bible said that the life of a child of God is hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:3).

Peter spoke to the most powerful men of his community and told them that Jesus Christ was the only way to salvation and the only way to be made right with God (Acts 4). Peter didn’t merely proclaim Jesus as a way of salvation, but as the only way of salvation. Instinctively, many may respond: “Isn’t there some other ways that one can be saved?” No! If you are going to be saved from your sins and be made right with God, it is only through Jesus. He is the only that can save you. No one else! He is also the only road to Heaven. Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me,” (John 14:6).

The name of Jesus is the authority of the believers. The rulers, elders and scribes asked Peter and John: “Tell us by what authority you healed the lame man?” Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: “Rulers of the people and elders, let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man is standing before you well,” (Acts 4:8-10).

There is power in the name of Jesus. Go with that name wherever you go and you will see the name do miracles.
