Eight abducted students of the Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, have regained their freedom. Gunmen had on the night of December 6, stormed the Gandu community and kidnapped some students of the institution who lived outside the campus.

Two officers of the Nigeria Customs Service attached to the Kebbi State Command have been killed by suspected drugs smugglers. This came less than a month after the Command lost an officer to smuggler.
