2,600 Nasarawa women get N52m from FG
The Federal Government has given N52 million as grant to 2,600 vulnerable rural women in Nasarawa State. Each of the women will get N20,000 under the government’s special cash transfer, as part of poverty alleviation programme.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouk, disclosed this while flagging of the programme in Lafia on Wednesday.
Farouk, represented by the Minister of State for Science and Technology, Abdullahi Mohammed, stated that the disbursement was part of President Muhammadu Buhari’s poverty reduction agenda.
“The grant is expected to increase access to financial capital required for economic activities and to uplift the socio-economic status of rural women in the state,” minister explained.
