Ambode made this known at the Stakeholders Conference and book launch organised by the United Nations Information Office in conjunction with the Lagos state Citizens Mediation Centre, to commemorate the annual International Day of Peace.

Towards ensuring a free, fair and transparent local council elections this weekend, the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) has promised to announce the outcome at the ward and collation centres.

The Chairman of LASIEC, retired Justice Ayotunde Phillips, said on Saturday that rather than shift the election, preparations had been intensified to ensure that the exercise was successfully conducted.

Also the chairman of the event and former Chief Judge of Lagos, Ayotunde Phillips described the author as “very distinguished and very learned”, who has expanded the frontier of legal learning by his books and persuasiveness.

The Chairman assured that the commission would beef up security at its headquarters to forestall a situation where political thugs would invade the office and turn it into a battlefield.
