God’s pronouncement was twofold: (a) “I will put none of these diseases upon thee (as judgment), which I have brought upon the Egyptians” and (b) “I am the Lord that healeth thee (as Redeemer).”
In the first promise of healing, God said: “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you, which I have brought on the Egyptians.
Several illness accompanied by fever are mentioned in Matt 8:14-15; John 4:46-52; Acts 28:8. In the last cited reference, the ill man also had dysentery.

Read Jer. 29:24-32. A letter to Shemaiah: “Therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his family: he shall not have anyone to dwell among this people, nor shall he see the good that I will do for My people, says the Lord, because he has taught rebellion against the Lord,” Jer 29:32.
Although we often suffer from the effects of sins committed by those who came before us, God does not punish us for someone else’s sins, and we cannot use their mistakes as an excuse for our sins. Each person is accountable to God for his or her actions.

Jesus was not denying His responsibility to His earthly family. On the contrary, He criticised the religious leaders for not following the Old Testament command to honour their parents (15:1-9).

Samson, who was anointed by God to “begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines” (Jdg 13:5), violated his vow and God’s laws on many occasions. God removed His Spirit from him (Judges 16:20) and he suffered severe consequences.
