About 6.34m, representing 62 per cent of the 10.19 million out-of-school children in the country are girls, The Guardian has learnt. According to data obtained from the Federal Ministry of Education, Sokoto, Katsina and Akwa Ibom are the three leading states with the highest prevalence of out-of-school girls.
