The construction industry has long been one of the backbones of any society, and yet, it is often overlooked in terms of recognition and appreciation. Many individuals involved in the trades, such as carpenters, electricians, and plumbers, are seen as "blue-collar workers" and not given the same respect as other professions. However, this perception is slowly changing, thanks to events such as iCreate Africa's Builders Show powered by the Skillers Platform.

Nigeria's social enterprise and skill advocate, iCreate Africa, will hold its sixth yearly technical and vocational skills competition, conference, and exhibition, SkillFest from April 26 – 28, 2023, at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.

With the statistic of over 37 per cent of Nigerian youths, totalling over 21 million individuals, currently unemployed, founder, iCreate Africa, Bright Jaja, has engaged technical and vocational skills to solve the crisis.

All is set for the fifth edition of Africa’s largest skills competition and exhibition, scheduled for next January, in Abuja.
