Members of the Eniong Abatim Community in Odukpani Council Area of Cross River State have risen in defence of Justice Akon Ikpeme, insisting that the state government should follow due process, the rule of law and swear her in as substantive Chief Judge of the state.

My proposition was for a minimum sentence of five years with no upper limit. A recent rape case I prosecuted on behalf of the Oyo State Attorney General resulted in a conviction and the rapist was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
