For Chinua Achebe, the standard fare is that he was not autobiographical in his novels. But is it? Whatever, the scandal is not that Achebe was actually autobiographical in writing Things Fall Apart, the scandal is that Achebe’s readers, scholars, and researchers, have missed out on this largely self-evident fact for sixty-odd years.

Okonko is a tradition in Igbo (Eastern part of Nigeria) that is believed to originate back in the days as early as 14th century and emanate from the great shrine of Arochukwu. AS argument continues to surround the authenticity of the winner of the just-concluded March 28 senatorial election in Anambra State, the former senatorial aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Anambra Central Senatorial District, Dr Obiora Okonkwo, has cautioned the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) “not to continue heating up the polity by going on with is unverifiable claim that it won the elections, because it did not win anywhere”.
