Special Needs Initiative For Growth
As part of advocacy for inclusive employment of persons with disabilities in Nigeria, Special Needs Initiative for Growth (SNIG) in partnership with Jobberman has piloted its first employment scheme project that collaboratively generates solutions regarding Nigeria’s 2018 legislation, which requires that five per cent of persons with disabilities be included into the Nigerian workforce.
There are an estimated 1.2 billion young people impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic response measures. Disruptions to education, employment, services and social support have changed the future of an entire generation.
Given the circumstances surrounding the global pandemic since March 2020, learners with disabilities in developing countries such as Nigeria have been excluded from educational resources as opposed to their non-disabled peers who access remote learning and adapt to several learning opportunities during this period.
The Global Exchange on Religion in Society (GERIS), a two-year project administered by the European External Action Service and Particip GmbH, has piloted the 2022 Inter-cultural Civil Convention with over 100 professionals, civil society actors, academic practitioners, government and intergovernmental professionals, as well as faith-based professionals across different parts of the world to engage in critical discussions on civil society issues affecting them.
