Kano State Court of Appeal has upturned the death sentence passed on Yahaya Sheriff, for allegedly producing work found derogatory to Prophet Muhammed.

Justice Nasiru Saminu has set aside the judgment of Upper Sharia court that sentence one Yahaya Sheriff to death by hanging and ordered for immediate retrial.
