Minister seeks more tech companies’ listing as NSE unveils N500m data centre

The new data center according to Mr. Osacr Onyema, the chief executive officer of the NSE cost N500 million.Addressing stockbrokers at the exchange, the minister of Science and Technology Minister commended the management and council of the exchange for supporting the growth of Nigerian economy. Onu who also had the privilege of closing the market by sounding the gong noted that he was happy to see the good work at the exchange.

He stressed that the NSE is aiming very high and should be able to compete with the very best in the world.Commenting on the activities of the ministry in relation to the capital market, the minister pointed out that they are working hard to move the nation economy to information base economy, adding that the ministry wants the market to be research driven so that job and wealth can be created.

He urged the NSE to list more technology firms.Also speaking, Mr. Oscar Onyema, NSE’s CEO, said the world class data center which is a Tie three standard will help to support most of the exchange activities and other platforms that are linked to the NSE.

The doyen of the day Sam Ndata of Campass Securities Limited commended the minister for his visit and commissioning of the data center, while urging the minister not to hesitate, in calling on the capital market community whenever there is need for collaboration.
