A travel and tourism application with safety and security features known as TRPPNS that was developed by a Nigerian ICT expert has been inaugurated in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Mr Fidelis Igbokwe, Chief Executive and founder of TRPPNS Application, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on telephone that the product was introduced into the market on Dec. 2.

He said the concept began three years ago based on his experience concerning security while travelling around Africa

“ We will use the application to boost tourism, intra-African travels as well as attract foreigners into Africa.“ The application can be used to book flights, hotel, accommodation, hire taxis and book Uber taxi service.“ TRPPNS is connected to over 1,600 car hire operators in 190 countries globally,” he said.

According to Igbokwe, the application will be used to expose African tourism and create jobs for the people.“ The number of tourists that visit Africa annually is 60 million, but France as a country attracts more than 80 million tourist annually.

“ Our intention is to use TRPPNS to change that perception and attract more tourists into the continent,” he said.He also said that some Africans have bought shares in the new product while more foreigners had indicated interest to acquire shares.

“ We are open to work with governments in Africa to expose their natural resources and boost tourism in their respective countries, ‘’ he said.

Igbokwe said that Nigeria had great potentials to benefit from the application by downloading it free of charge, use it to expose its travel and tourism potentials and create jobs for the people.

Also speaking to NAN, the President of Nigeria Union, South Africa, Mr Ikechukwu Anyene, welcomed the product and pledged the union`s support to ensure its success.

“ We commend the efforts of Igbokwe on this great initiative. The union will partner with him to ensure that the product is a success.

“ This also shows that Nigerians are contributing positively to the growth of the South African economy.

“ We are proud of this achievement and commend the concept,” he said.
