PlotWeaver, a technology firm, is developing a new generation of conversational artificial intelligence (AI) agents designed to communicate naturally in English, Pidgin and major Nigerian languages while performing real business tasks through telephone, WhatsApp and connected enterprise systems.

At the centre of the platform is Àdùnní, PlotWeaver’s conversational AI agent, which is designed to hold voice conversations, remember context, switch naturally between languages, make and receive calls, book meetings, retrieve information and interact with business tools.

Unlike conventional chatbots that primarily respond to questions, PlotWeaver’s agents are being developed to complete workflows such as qualifying customers, following up on sales leads, managing appointments, answering support enquiries and escalating issues to human teams where necessary.

Founder and CEO of PlotWeaver, Wole Fagbohun, said: “One of the biggest changes coming to AI is that it will move beyond the screen. The next generation of AI will speak to customers, make calls, use business tools and take actions on behalf of organisations.”

A major focus of PlotWeaver’s development is code-switching, including conversations that move naturally between English, Nigerian Pidgin, Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo.

The company is testing the technology under real-world conditions including different Nigerian accents, interruptions, noisy telephone connections and multilingual conversations.

Fagbohun said the opportunity is particularly significant for African businesses, where voice and messaging remain central to customer interaction.

“AI should not require a Nigerian customer to speak differently before the technology can serve them,” he said. “We are building systems that understand the way people actually communicate.”

PlotWeaver believes conversational AI could give Nigerian businesses significantly greater operational capacity across sales, customer service, appointments and internal workflows without forcing companies to replace their existing communication channels.
