Though the 2022 Global Robotic Challenge in Geneva, Switzerland, `might have come and gone, a lot of positive takeaways are inherent for Nigerians, especially Akinleye Oluwafemi Adeolu, who was one of the judges in the competition.
During the competition held from October 13 to 16, Team Nigeria, made up of students from selected secondary schools was awarded a bronze medal for the Dr. Mae Jemison Award for International Unity.
The organisers, in a congratulatory remark, described Adeolu’s contribution to the success of the competition as “significant” and “invaluable”.
Adeolu served as a judge on the panel of the National Qualifiers of the annual First Global Robotics Championship, Geneva, in Science and Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
Part of the letter by the organisers obtained by our correspondent read, “Akinleye Oluwafemi Adeolu made a significant contribution to the success of the national qualifiers aimed at preparing West Africa’s Representative for the Finals in Geneva.
“During the Qualifiers, he showcased his exceptional knowledge and expertise in the field of Science and Technology through insightful and thoughtful judgment, combined with deep understanding of the latest developments in science and technology, particularly, Robotics by monitoring, evaluating and appraising the participants from 40 Schools before the Final rounds of the National Qualifiers.
“His Contribution was invaluable to the event and greatly appreciated by all who participated.
“In addition to Femi’s technical abilities, he also displayed exceptional leadership skills, effectively guiding and mentoring the other judges and ensuring that the event was well-organized and ran smoothly. The top-level dedication to work and passion for the digital Technology industry was evident in his participation on the panel, and I have no doubt that he will continue to make significant contributions in the field of science and technology.
“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mr Akinleye Oluwafemi Adeolu on behalf of the National Organizing Committee for his invaluable contribution to the event, amidst a busy schedule and we deeply appreciate his hard work and commitment to the success of the event.

Adeolu is a highly skilled IT professional with over 10 years of experience in core infrastructure engineering, IT solutions architecture, management, and IT project management. Possesses expertise in designing, implementing and managing enterprise-level IT systems and infrastructure.
Adeolu is a graduate of Computer Science from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Nigeria and has an MSc degree in Strategic Information System Analysis from Metropolitan School of Business Management, London.
He is the Head of IT Operations at Aramex, a multinational logistics and e-commerce company where he leads the team of technology experts.
He is the Co-Founder and Head of Marketing at Vendly, a Fintech company that leverages APIs for the exchange of digital assets and payments using social media identity.
Vendly currently have over 1000 users across Nigeria and Femi manages the operations and marketing of the company’s products.
With core technical competencies in Infrastructure Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Cyber Security and System OPs, Femi has led and helped several teams attain great heights using technology, one of which is the mentoring and assessment of the National Team of the World Robotics Championship for African Students.
