Chimoney, a fintech company based in Toronto and powering seamless financial access across over 130 countries, has been selected to join the inaugural cohort of AC:RevLab, a new strategic scale-up program from Canada’s prestigious Accelerator Centre backed by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).
AC:RevLab provides high-potential companies like Chimoney with the strategic resources and expert support needed to transform early success into scalable growth.
Chimoney’s selection marks a significant milestone in its ongoing mission to eliminate financial barriers, particularly in emerging markets where payment systems remain fragmented and access to global financial tools is limited.
Chimoney has established its presence across African markets by enabling businesses, startups, and communities to send value via mobile money, bank transfers, and airtime, utilising both its unified API and user-friendly SaaS platform.
“Joining AC:RevLab allows us to sharpen our go-to-market execution and build the growth engine that matches our mission and momentum,” said Babatunde Hammed, Chimoney’s Head of Operations. “We’re focused on creating impact, not just in Canada, but across the global South.”
Over the years, the company has participated in top accelerator programmes, including Techstars Toronto, the Accelerator Centre Studio program, and the Google for Startups Accelerator.
Most recently, it has had a strategic partnership with Interledger, continuing its commitment to expanding open payment systems globally.
Now, with AC:RevLab’s tactical mentorship, go-to-market support, and partnerships with platforms like HubSpot, Chimoney aims to scale sustainably while continuing to support financial inclusion across Africa and other emerging markets.
As Chimoney enters its next chapter, the fintech ecosystem, especially in Africa, will be watching closely.
